RODOLFO AGRELLA is a well-known name in the world of contemporary Latin-American Design. Born in Caracas, he graduated with honors from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the Universidad Central de Venezuela and completed part of his degree abroad, at the renowned Politecnico di Milano.

New York based Designer, with more than 12 years of experience in the broad field of design. Creator of a diverse portfolio focus on Hospitality, Branding and Product Development.  His service set Shadow, produced and distributed worldwide by Koziol is a testament to this. In 2015 the Shadow Line won the prestigious German Design Award 2015 with a Special Mention.

Accomplishing both national and international recognition, thanks to the in-depth knowledge of materials and construction techniques, the incorporation of bold and sensual shapes, environmental graphics, and a powerful use of color. Agrella has presented his designs in numerous group and solo exhibitions, showcasing his work on utilitarian projects at the most imposing venues around the world. In 2011, he was selected for the first time to participate in the SaloneSatellite in Milan representing Venezuela, thanks to his ambitious conception and development of design. In 2012, he repeated the experience at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, and was invited to partake in the Inventory 03: Experience of the City, hosted in Miami during the Design Miami and Art Basel fairs. During 2014 his work was presented as part of the most important Latin American Design exhibition in US, New Territories: Design, Art and Craft in Global Latin America at the MAD Museum in New York City. Later the same year, he was selected to participate at the Bienal Iberoamericana de Diseño (BID) 2014 and 2016 in Madrid, Spain. In 2015 his Shadow line was requested to be part of Philodendron at the FIU-Wolfosian Museum in Miami Beach. In 2017, his piece Memorabilia Satellite is selected to be part of the Collezione SaloneSatellite 20 Anniversary.

Distinguished international publications project Agrella as one of the leading voices of the new generation of Latin American designers. His profile has been covered by the Italian Corriere della Sera, the French magazine Ideat, the Emirate’s Compasses Architecture and Design, Dutch DAM magazine, and MR from Hong Kong among many others. These publications have described his work as: “a clear example of how tropical sensuality can be deftly translated into contemporary design”
